I'm the young adult author of several books that you can can again find right over there ~~~~>>
in the sidebar.

But you're here for the hunt, so let's get to it.

I'm on....

If you're looking for my exclusive content (it's a sneak peak of my short story THE ONE TRUE MIRANDA LIEU, part of AMONG THE SHADOWS:13 stories of Darkness and Light) you'll have to keep hunting.

I am also hosting a wonderful author here on my blog today, but before we can get to her exclusive content, we need to review the rules first.

SCAVENGER HUNT PUZZLE

Directions: Below, you'll notice that I've listed my favorite number. Collect the favorite numbers of all the authors on the pink team, and then add them up (don't worry, you can use a calculator!).

Entry Form: Once you've added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify.

Rules: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian's permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by Oct 4th, at noon Pacific Time. Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.

At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. EXCLUSIVE CONTENT

Seventeen year-old Jonas' blood disorder has taken away everything that matters. Sixteen year-old Hattie's father is losing his marbles. When Jonas' perfectly healthy twin brother and Hattie's crazy dad are drafted into the President's army, Hattie's dad disappears. Jonas and Hattie embark on a journey to find him, and find something they'd lost long ago in the process.

And here is the exclusive content from Jessica!

We lie on the concrete, our bellies full of a richness that had been long-forgotten until todays treat; the cold seeping up from the ground, mixing with our wet clothes, nudging its way to our bones. I resist a shiver and pretend being here with Jonas doesn't send a tingle through my hands, that it isnt threatening to take them over and make me touch his lips again. Its as though the droplets plinking against the carport are chanting, do it! do it! do it again! and my arm aches desperately to comply. I dont know if its the rain, or me abandoning Mom and Lucy to come here with him, or me worrying about Dadbut the longer were together on this trip, the harder it is not to feel thisfeeling.

I want to lean to my side, look Jonas in the eye, and tell him thank you for leaving everyone to do all of this for methank you for doing this for Dad. I want press my finger against his lips, feel how soft they were, watch him still at my touch like a bird realizing its being watched.

But hes going to get hold of those people and were going to have a place to stay and were going to make everything right, and

Jonas hits me with his un-inflated balloon. The twinkle in his eyes sends the tingles through my fingers. I need a distraction. Need to get my mind proper. I cant let him think theres any sort of chance for something like this with us. Not now. Not ever. Itll break him if theres a draft and he has to leave me behind.

I force myself to focus on the task at hand. How long are you going to wait to call again?
